Our solutions

Automated Fiber Placement

Avel has been producing composite parts using AFP technology since 2017.

Our AFP (Automated Fiber Placement) robots reproduce digital objects. This process offers many advantages: manufacturing control, fiber continuity, and high productivity.

Adaptability: our production tools are versatile and adapt to many geometries. AFP allows continuous fibers to be laid down over curved areas with variable thicknesses.

Lower environmental impact: the robot builds your composite part laying down “only what is needed”, like a giant 3D printer, which significantly reduces the material wastage rates (unused material). Avel has developed materials adapted to AFP that are more virtuous, without plastic (separator film) and a mold-free manufacturing method to generate less production waste.

Composites know-how

The expertise of our manufacturing workshop

According to our customer’s specifications, our composite technicians carry out the manufacturing, assembly and finishing of composite parts. Processes such as high thickness infusion (over 70 mm thick), prepreg materials, or wet lay-up are at the core of our workshop expertise.

Our parts manufactured in AFP are systematically checked by ultrasound and 3D scan throughout the build and before being delivered.

New! “A la carte” services: autoclave curing services* with or without technical support, production of special parts and CNC machining according to specifications, repair of composite parts.
