The victory for Avel Robotics in the Vendée Globe 2024!

A reprentative of the Avel Robotics company was present in Les Sables d’Olonne earlier this week for the arrival of the magnificent Vendée Globe, which our Technical Director Adrien Marchandise was a part of.

He reflects on this incredible moment:

“What a chance it was to witness the arrival of Charlie Dalin and Yoann Richomme! First and foremost, we must salute the performance of both sailors. They have been preparing for years at every level for this ultra-demanding race. They absolutely smashed the records!

At AVEL, we’re incredibly proud to have contributed our little part to the project with foils that allow them to achieve speed records in extreme conditions.

Charlie crossed the finish line first for the second time in 4 years, with foils made in AFP. Yoann also entrusted us with the production of his foils in AFP. This Vendée Globe validates several years of research and improvements to our process.

It’s a huge source of pride and achievement for everyone at Avel, we couldn’t miss this!”

We continue to follow and encourage all the other competitors who haven’t returned to Les Sables d’Olonne yet, especially Paul Meilhat on Biotherm, Boris Herrmann on Team Malizia, Clarisse Crémer on L’Occitane en Provence, and Samantha Davies on Initiatives-Cœur, who trusted in our technology for this Vendée Globe campaign.

Our thoughts also go to Yannick Bestaven, Louis Burton, and Maxime Sorel, and all other competitiors who had to abandon their race due to mechanical or physical issues.

Congratulations to all our clients for this incredible adventure, and we’ll see you in 4 years!
